Kurdistan Parliament Delegation meets with French Parliament Members

On 21th March, 2018, a delegation made up of Kurdish Parliament members visited a number of France Parliament members and the head and members of Kurdish-French friendship group. Both sides discussed over a range of issues. In the meeting, the two sides put emphasis on the goals of the cooperative group. One more point of the meeting was the political process of Kurdistan and the dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad. The Kurdish MPs also made some important explanations concerning the Erbil-Baghdad disputes, violations against the Iraqi constitution which are ongoing by the Iraqi government, and fighting against ISIS terrorist group.

The main objective of the delegation is to encourage France, which is the key partner in the anti-terror Coalition, to play an important role in resolving the disputes between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Iraqi government.

At the end of the meeting, the head and members of the friendship group emphasized that independence for Kurdistan is Kurdish people’s right, and it can be a significant factor for stabilizing the region.
